Michelle Reisinger, LMT
Michelle graduated Valedictorian of her class in 1999 in Fort Myers, Florida. She recently relocated from Alaska and is looking forward to putting down roots here in Clarksville.
Michelle received national certification in medical massage
through the Medical Massage National Certification Board. This certification process included 500 hours of advanced training focusing on the ability to evaluate for indications and contraindications, understanding of soft tissue pathologies, and appropriate protocols for treating those pathologies.
Michelle specializes in her own style of massage that she calls Corrective Bodywork Massage. This is a unique approach combining massage, manual therapy, muscle lengthening and strengthening, and client education to focus on corrective and preventative care.
Each treatment is tailored to the individual needs of the client. Michelle is dedicated to providing the highest quality care to help others overcome pain and dysfunction.
She is often told her massage style is unlike others and is very effective for muscle pain and dysfunction. Michelle believes this is due to working closely with others in the pain management field. She has worked with several chiropractors and an orthopedic surgeon who took the time to show and explain x-ray and MRI results. They also helped give her a clearer understanding of the complexities of neuromuscular disorders.
Michelle also worked many years with a physical therapist. The clinic primarily treated Medicare patients, focusing on the elderly population. Michelle frequently worked with patients undergoing pre-and post-operative joint replacements and spinal surgeries.
Michelle's vast experience and collaboration with others in the field of pain management has enhanced her knowledge of complex pain conditions. This allows her to offer more comprehensive care while also better understanding the limitations of massage therapy. Michelle frequently refers out to complementary providers, preferring to work closely with those involved in any comprehensive treatment plan.
Michelle had a successful practice outside of Gate 6 where she worked with many soldiers who appreciated her expertise in helping to alleviate their pain while also gaining insight on how to counteract the stresses the military put on their bodies. She left in Jan. 2017 to enjoy several years in Alaska and is now back and looking forward to working once again with those in the military!
