Relaxation massage is a full body massage. The pressure is firm and relaxing. Not too soft and not too hard! Lighter or deeper pressure is available upon request. The time is evenly spaced throughout the body. There may be some focused attention to a problematic area, but the main intent is to relax, not work out a kink.
Prenatal massage is offered throughout the pregnancy, including the first trimester. There are certain medical conditions that may exclude you from receiving a massage, or may necessitate modifications to the techniques used or the areas to be massaged.
Massage pressure will be firm unless requested otherwise.
In response to "pressure points" that are said to cause miscarriage: If it was that easy to stimulate labor, reflexologists would have a big business running reflexology-induced abortion clinics and pregnant women, partners, midwives and doctors would use this noninvasive method for inducing labor. Reflexology cannot, does not, and will not make the body do something unnatural.
Please call before setting an appointment if you have any medical conditions that may endanger your pregnancy.
Corrective Bodywork is for those who are suffering acute or chronic pain and/or range of motion limitations. Chronic pain does not have to be constant. Just a specific issue that crops up occasionally, but has been doing so for at least 6 months.
The therapist looks to get to the root of the problem. It is outcome based massage specific to findings based on ongoing evaluations. Treatment will vary according to noted improvements.
Corrective Bodywork seeks to empower the client by encouraging client participation. The therapist will share insights specific to each client that will teach them things that are contributing to their pain. Things they should avoid or modify and things they can do to help themselves. There is a large educational component to corrective bodywork.
Techniques vary. Standard pressure is firm, dependent upon technique. Client feedback is imperative to avoid either too much pressure/pain, or not enough pressure or focus in problem area. Client satisfaction is of utmost importance!

Manual therapy techniques are skilled hand movements and skilled passive movements of joints and soft tissue and are intended to improve tissue extensibility; increase range of motion; induce relaxation; mobilize or manipulate soft tissue and joints; modulate pain; and reduce soft tissue swelling, inflammation, or restriction. Techniques may include manual lymphatic drainage, manual traction, massage, mobilization/manipulation, and passive range of motion. Physical therapists select, prescribe, and implement manual therapy techniques when the examination findings, diagnosis, and prognosis indicate use of these techniques to decrease edema, pain, spasm, or swelling; enhance health, wellness, and fitness; enhance or maintain physical performance; increase the ability to move; or prevent or remediate impairment in body functions and structures, activity limitations, or participation restrictions to improve physical function.
